11. HOW TO STACK YOUR RINGS: THE DAŬRE METHOD
In short: to stack your rings well, start with one round band and one octagonal ring, mix polished gold with diamond pavé, and do not be afraid to wear yellow and white gold, or even silver, on the same finger. Build around one stronger piece, then add finer bands until the composition feels like yours.
The three rules of a good stack
1. Play with shapes
A good starting point: at least one perfectly round band and one octagonal ring. Softness against structure, so that each makes the other more itself. The octagon, our signature shape, sits between the circle and the square, which is why it stacks so naturally. Discover the Octagon collection.
2. Mix textures
Pavé catches the light; plain gold holds it. In your composition, the difference between surfaces becomes the design itself. One diamond band between two plain rings is often enough.
3. Mix metals
Yellow gold and white gold on the same finger: the contrast is not a mistake, it is the intention. No need to choose sides. Silver, too, can be precious beside gold and diamonds.
How many rings, and on which finger?
There is no right number. Two or three rings on one finger make a clear statement; you can also spread your stack across the ring finger and the middle finger, or add a fine ring on the little finger. Start small, then add a ring at a time.
Building a stack around an engagement ring
An engagement ring is the natural centre of a stack. Frame it with a fine band on each side, or pair it with an eternity band that sits close against it. Our Forever Bands reimagine the eternity ring, round or angular, set with baguettes or a floating stone. See also our wedding bands.
Our three signature looks
- Octagon Study: our signature shape, pavé or plain, rooted in modernist and Art Deco architecture.
- Bold Simplicity: rings with presence, which commit to their volumes. Bold enough to be minimal, minimal enough to be bold.
- Forever Bands: eternity rings reinvented, a ribbon of diamonds with no beginning and no end.
Every daŭre ring is born from the same atelier, and their volumes are designed to answer each other. Read more about the art of stacking.
A note on sizing
Several rings on one finger can feel tighter than a single ring, especially wide bands. Check your size with our size guide, or try your stack on at the showroom.
Frequently asked questions
Can I mix gold and silver?
Yes. At daŭre we mix colours, metals, even worlds: silver can be precious beside gold and diamonds.
Can I mix yellow, white and rose gold?
Yes. Mixing gold colours is one of the simplest ways to make a stack look personal.
Will my rings mark each other?
Rings worn together can develop fine marks over time. It is the natural patina of jewellery that is lived in, and gold can always be polished again.
Where can I try a stack on?
