Alix and Julie have been lifelong friends in Belgium. Before uniting their professional lives, they shared both a circle of friends and a student apartment. But what has always united them is their sense for aesthetics, a love for modernist design, beautiful objects and a deep respect for craftsmanship.

Alix Battard has cherished the world of jewellery since her childhood. Each visit to her grandmother's was a chance to explore secret drawers, the glint of stones and the history behind each piece igniting her imagination. With a knack for storytelling, Alix pursued journalism in 2006. After a distinguished 13-year career as a well-know news presenter on Belgian television, she rekindled her childhood passion, elevating it to new heights.

Julie de Cartier, with a last name that seems to have destined her for the jewellery industry, has always found precious stones crossing her path. In 2008, she relocated to Hong Kong and spent 15 years as a graphic designer and creative consultant for major jewelry houses. Her growing expertise, intuition, and widely recognized taste inspired her to craft her own creative space.

Together, Alix and Julie embraced synthetic diamonds, recognizing them as the future of jewellery. Their vision was to establish a brand reflecting strong, modern values - a bold, feminine realm combining artisan skill with innovation. They aspired to create jewellery to be passed on to their daughters, representing the ethos of a just world. And so, daŭre came to life.
