OCTAGON FAMILY: ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT OUR ICONIC SHAPE

Eight sides. Eight angles. The octagon is daŭre's most stubborn obsession: it started as a ring, then took over earrings, and now it's a bolt around your neck. Here's everything worth knowing.

ARCHITECTURE ROOTS

The octagon sits between the circle and the square, never fully soft, never fully rigid. Modernist architects flirted with it. Art Déco architects were obsessed: octagonal lobbies, stained-glass windows, geometric floor tiles, entire buildings built on eight sides.

We stole the same logic. A shape that holds tension, and wears it well.

THE NAME GAME

In Esperanto, "oklatero" means octagon. "Oklatera" means octagonal. Okta means "eight." It's the quiet rule behind every daŭre name, the one that brings an entire family to life.

Oklatero wears the octagon bare, in slim or bold gold. Oklatera dresses it up in pavé diamonds. Oklateri lets a single emerald-cut diamond float beside it.

Same shape for our siblings, but three completely different personalities.

NEW: EARRINGS, BOLT & OKTA

Since summer 2026, the family kept growing. But turning our favourite shape into a hoop meant more study than we expected. For our earrings, we kept a touch of roundness, a small cheat, so the octagon would actually sit well on the ear. It looks effortless, but behind it sits real work on balance and finish. The volumes had to be exact: bold enough to notice, light enough to forget you're wearing it. That's the Oklatera earring, pavé-set with lab-grown diamonds, in gold or silver.

Then there's the Okta ring. The baguette diamonds we used for Sika worked so well, we wanted to bring baguettes into our octagon too. Why not? For this design, we used a channel-set, so every angle catches light.

And finally there's Bolto. We wanted a bolt to hang from our chains, but the question was simple: what size, exactly?

Behind every design sits a handful of prototypes, and a search for the one measurement that feels right. Wear it solo, engraved on every face, or stack it with our tiny Pilko beads.

"Across many cultures, the octagon holds a meaning of balance, protection and infinity."

SYMBOL OF HEAVEN AND SPIRIT

Across many cultures, the octagon marks the transition between the square, symbol of earth and matter, and the circle, symbol of heaven and spirit.

A shape for renewal, regeneration, the passage between two states. But also a meaning of balance, protection, infinity. That's all we hope for you, octagon lovers.
